Portomaso Gaming Review: Malta Live Roulette Status (2026)

Portomaso Gaming is the Malta live casino brand that streamed real roulette and punto banco tables from the floors of the Portomaso Casino in St Julian’s and the Oracle Casino in Qawra. In October 2026 the brand itself has gone quiet: its website, portomasogaming.com, now shows a domain parking page. The casino-floor roulette lives on through LuckyStreak, which sells Dual Play Roulette streamed from the same two casinos. US players cannot reach these tables at a state-licensed casino, and none of the four offshore casinos we review for US players carries them.

Updated October 2026. Our previous review was written years ago and treated Portomaso Gaming as a growing developer with “two particularly impressive licenses”, a slots range and a casino platform. Several claims did not hold up: we could not confirm a UK licence, the slots and platform products have disappeared from view, and the company’s own site is offline. This version rebuilds the review from Portomaso Gaming’s archived website, the Malta Gaming Authority register, the casinos’ own terms and trade press. We also removed the old list of casinos, because none of them accepted US players.

Where US Players Can Play Live Roulette

Portomaso tables are out of reach for most Americans. Eight states have legalised online casinos; seven markets are live (NJ, PA, MI, WV, CT, DE, RI); Maine legalised a tribal-only market (LD 1164: became law without the governor’s signature in January 2026, effective 29 Jul 2026) that has not launched (Oct 2026). Every live dealer studio supplying those markets needs approval from the state regulator, and we found no approval for Portomaso Gaming, Oracle Gaming Shops or LuckyStreak from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board or the Michigan Gaming Control Board. Outside those states, the offshore casinos below accept players from many states. None of them streams Portomaso or LuckyStreak tables: Bovada’s live tables are labelled Gold Tier Gaming and Dynamite Interactive, MyBookie uses Visionary iGaming, and BetOnline uses Visionary iGaming plus Fresh Deck Studios.

Offshore risk: Bovada, Ignition, MyBookie and BetOnline hold no US state licence, and each excludes some states, listed in its card. If a withdrawal is refused or an account closed, there is no state regulator to complain to, and your funds are not protected the way they are at a licensed casino. Visionary iGaming, the studio most of these sites use, streams from its own studios rather than casino floors.

What Happened to Portomaso Gaming?

For about a decade Portomaso Gaming sold one clear idea: let online players bet on the same roulette wheel as guests standing at the table in a Malta casino. Its 2021 website described the product as “Real Live Casino” with “dual play capability”, and said the land-based streams had run since 2008. Clients over the years included LeoVegas, which signed an exclusive deal for roulette from Portomaso and Oracle in November 2015, and Betsson, which in July 2015 took casino-floor roulette plus a dedicated Salon Prive studio built on the Oracle Casino floor. Italian partners followed, including Octavian Lab and Sisal.

By 2022 the brand had faded. Web archives hold the last full version of portomasogaming.com from 2021 and early 2022; by May 2022 the site had been replaced by a script-only page, and archived captures from November 2025 onwards show a domain parking lander. We found no press release announcing a closure, sale or rebrand.

Its tables did not disappear. LuckyStreak, a Riga-based live casino supplier, markets Dual Play Roulette “live streamed directly from the floors of the Oracle and Portomaso casinos in Malta”. In September 2023 it launched Oracle Blaze Roulette, which European Gaming reported gave it three Dual Play tables. Neither LuckyStreak nor the casinos say whether LuckyStreak bought Portomaso Gaming’s business, licensed the feeds, or simply took over distribution, so we do not describe it as an acquisition. We also looked for links to Oryx Gaming or Bragg Gaming, which some old directory pages mention. We found no announced distribution deal between them and Portomaso Gaming, so we do not repeat that claim.

The Casinos Behind the Stream

Both venues are real, licensed land-based casinos. Their general terms, last updated on 4 July 2024, say Tumas Gaming Ltd, company number C22700, operates Portomaso Casino (Level -1, Portomaso Business Tower, St Julian’s) and Oracle Casino (Isle Promenade, Qawra) under Malta Gaming Authority licence MGA/B2C/103/2000. The MGA register lists Tumas Gaming Limited with that licence as Licensed, covering casino games, fixed-odds betting and peer-to-peer games.

Portomaso Casino is very much open. After an extensive refurbishment it held a Grand Opening in January 2026, launching the Diamond Poker Series with EUR 5,000,000 in guaranteed prize pools from 16 to 26 January, SiGMA reported. The venue added a dedicated TV feature table for poker finals. On 6 October 2026 both casino websites said they were open; the Oracle site still advertises a live broadcast from its casino floor.

Portomaso Gaming Live Games

The table below lists the games on Portomaso Gaming’s own website in 2021, with the venue and hours it published at the time. Opening hours and table names may differ today, because the feeds now reach casinos through LuckyStreak.

The roulette tables are single-zero wheels, so the house edge on standard bets is 2.70%, against 5.26% on double-zero American wheels; our guide to house edge in roulette shows the maths. Our separate page on Portomaso roulette covers the table in more detail.

Punto banco is the casino name for baccarat as dealt in Malta. On a standard eight-deck shoe the Banker bet, with 5% commission, has a house edge of about 1.06%, Player about 1.24%, and a Tie paying 8 to 1 about 14.36%. Our old review said the card sensors stop the dealer or house from cheating; more precisely, the bar-code readers record each card so the result shown online matches the cards dealt on the table.

Earlier versions of the site, around 2015, also listed live studio blackjack and a slots range. We found no trace of either in the 2021 product menu, and the old review’s slot titles, Burlesque and RockSlot, could not be matched to a current catalogue, so we treat them as history.

What It Is Like to Play Casino-Floor Roulette

Dual play tables feel different from studio games. The croupier deals for guests in the room as well as online players, so rounds follow the pace of the real table rather than a fixed timer, and busy nights carry crowd noise and longer pauses. Players who want quick rounds usually prefer automated wheels; the Portomaso Auto Roulette page quoted 60 to 80 games an hour, while the VIP table aimed for a spin every 40 seconds.

Real casino floors also mean opening hours. Several Portomaso tables closed for part of the night in 2021, unlike studio tables that run around the clock. If a lobby shows a Portomaso or Oracle table as offline, it may simply be outside its hours.

Licences and Fairness

The last Portomaso Gaming website stated that the brand was “owned and operated by Oracle Gaming Shops Ltd licensed and regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority”, holding B2B critical supply licence MGA/B2B/811/2020. Its compliance page added certification by Italy’s AAMS, now the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli, and ISO 27001:2013 accreditation. It did not list a UK Gambling Commission licence, and we could not confirm the UK licence our old review described.

The old review also said the games were tested by Gaming Laboratories International. We found no Portomaso Gaming or GLI document confirming that, so we removed it. On the venue side, the MGA register is clear: Tumas Gaming Limited is Licensed under MGA/B2C/103/2000. No MGA enforcement action against Portomaso Gaming turned up in our checks.

For players, the licence that matters most is the online casino’s. A table streamed from a licensed casino floor does not make every website showing it a regulated operator. Check the operator’s licence before you deposit.

Is Portomaso Gaming legit?

Yes, as far as the public record goes. Its last website named Oracle Gaming Shops Ltd as owner and operator, under Malta Gaming Authority B2B critical supply licence MGA/B2B/811/2020, and the tables are on the floors of two MGA-licensed land-based casinos run by Tumas Gaming Ltd. We could not confirm the current status of that B2B licence, so check the licence of the online casino you play at.

Who owns Portomaso Gaming?

Portomaso Gaming’s website said in 2021 that it was owned and operated by Oracle Gaming Shops Ltd, a Malta company. The Portomaso and Oracle casinos it streams from are run by Tumas Gaming Ltd, which the Oracle Casino website describes as a fully owned subsidiary of the Tumas Group. Earlier versions of the site, around 2015 to 2017, carried a copyright line for Glimmer and Grinder Ltd.

Does Portomaso Gaming accept US players?

Portomaso Gaming is a supplier, not a casino, so it never takes player sign-ups. We found no US state approval for it or for LuckyStreak, which now markets the Portomaso and Oracle tables, and none of the four offshore casinos we review for US players lists those tables.

Is Portomaso Casino in Malta still open?

Yes. Portomaso Casino in St Julian’s reopened after a major refurbishment, with a Grand Opening and the Diamond Poker Series from 16 to 26 January 2026, according to SiGMA. Its website said ‘We are open’ on 6 October 2026, and its sister venue, Oracle Casino in Qawra, was also open.

Can I still play Portomaso roulette online?

At some non-US casinos, yes, but now mainly under the LuckyStreak name. LuckyStreak’s Dual Play Roulette is streamed from the Oracle and Portomaso casino floors, and in September 2023 it added Oracle Blaze Roulette as a third Dual Play table. Portomaso Gaming’s own website no longer works.

What games did Portomaso Gaming make?

Mainly live roulette streamed from casino floors in Malta: Portomaso Real Casino Roulette 1 and 2, Oracle Real Casino Roulette, Roulette 360, Blaze Roulette, Portomaso VIP Roulette, plus Portomaso Auto Roulette and Lumia Auto Roulette. It also streamed Real Live Punto Banco from Portomaso Casino and, in earlier years, sold video slots.

Our Verdict on Portomaso Gaming

Portomaso Gaming did something few suppliers do: it put online players at real roulette tables inside working casinos, starting in 2008. The brand has since faded, its website is a parking page, and the tables now reach online casinos through LuckyStreak. The casinos themselves are thriving, with Portomaso freshly refurbished in 2026. For US players the answer is simple: these tables are not available at state-licensed casinos, and the offshore sites above use other studios.
