BetOnline Live Blackjack: Tables, Limits, Rules and Bonuses

BetOnline live blackjack in October 2026: 30 VIG and Fresh Deck tables from $1 to $50,000, rules and house edge by studio, side bets, bonus terms and risks.

A dealer's hands drawing a card from the shoe at a live blackjack table

BetOnline runs one of the largest live dealer blackjack lobbies open to US players: 30 live tables on 6 October 2026, with stakes from $1 to $50,000 a hand. Most tables come from Visionary iGaming (VIG) and Fresh Deck Studios, and the rules differ by studio, so the house edge ranges from about 0.62% to 0.69% with basic strategy. BetOnline is an offshore casino licensed in Panama, not by any US state.

This guide lists every table we found in the lobby, the rules and side bets behind each studio, BetOnline’s own live casino rules, and what the current bonus terms mean for blackjack players. Our earlier version of this page described seven VIG tables from $15 to $5,000 and a $25 live dealer free play offer. Both are out of date and are corrected below.

BetOnline live blackjack tables and limits

To reach the tables, open Casino, then Live Casino, then the Blackjack tab. Each tile shows the table name, its stake range and how many of the seven seats are taken. The list below is what the lobby displayed on 6 October 2026. BetOnline adds, renames and re-prices tables without notice, so treat it as a snapshot rather than a fixed menu.

Limits per hand Tables Studio (from the table artwork)
$1 to $20,000 Immortal 1 Not named by BetOnline
$5 to $100 Early Payout 5, Early Payout 6, Perfect 3 VIG
$10 to $500 Classic 22, Classic 23 VIG
$10 to $2,000 Classic 7, Classic 16, Classic 17 Fresh Deck
$10 to $20,000 Classic 8, Classic 9 VIG
$25 to $500 Early Payout 3, Early Payout 4, Perfect 2 VIG
$25 to $2,500 Classic 19, Classic 21 VIG
$25 to $5,000 Classic 6, Classic 14 Fresh Deck
$50 to $10,000 Classic 13 Fresh Deck
$50 to $20,000 Classic 3 Fresh Deck
$100 to $5,000 Classic 18 VIG
$100 to $10,000 Classic 10, Classic 11 Fresh Deck
$100 to $20,000 Classic 5 Fresh Deck
$100 to $50,000 Classic 1, Classic 2 Not named by BetOnline
$250 to $10,000 Early Payout 1, Early Payout 2, Perfect 1 VIG
$500 to $50,000 Classic 4 Fresh Deck

Two patterns stand out. First, the cheap end of the lobby is thin: only Immortal 1 takes $1 hands, and only three VIG tables start at $5. Everything else starts at $10 or more, which is normal for live tables, as our guide to live blackjack minimum bets explains. Second, the top end is unusually deep for an offshore site. Three tables accept $50,000 a hand, and several Fresh Deck tables carry an “Exclusive” label, meaning private tables branded for BetOnline.

When every seat is taken, the tile shows 7/7. You can wait, move to another table at the same limits, or place a back bet on a seated player’s hand. Our Bet Behind guide covers how that works and what it costs.

Who deals the cards: VIG and Fresh Deck Studios

BetOnline has used Visionary iGaming since February 2017. Its statement at the time, reported by Flushdraw on 21 February 2017, said it had replaced its previous live dealer provider, Global Gaming Labs, with VIG on 18 February 2017 after complaints about table numbers, dealers and hand reporting. A follow-up statement added that BetOnline had been notified of “potentially questionable behavior” by a blackjack dealer from the previous provider on 25 January 2017, after a player posted a video of the hand online. That incident involved the old supplier’s tables, not VIG or Fresh Deck.

Visionary iGaming is a live studio established in 2008, according to its website, and best known for Blackjack Early Payout. At BetOnline it supplies the Early Payout, Perfect Blackjack and several Classic tables. Fresh Deck Studios runs BetOnline’s private classic tables, including the $500 to $50,000 Classic 4. Neither studio supplies the state-licensed casinos in New Jersey, Pennsylvania or Michigan, where Evolution runs most of the live tables.

One caution applies to both. No US regulator oversees BetOnline, and neither VIG nor the casino publishes a lab certificate for the live games. A live table is still a physical shoe dealt on camera, which many players find more reassuring than software, but nobody outside the operator audits the stream.

BetOnline live blackjack rules by studio

BetOnline does not publish one rule set for live blackjack. Its help centre says advanced options such as splitting and doubling vary from game to game, and its live casino rules point players to the “How to Play” and “Pay Table” tabs inside each table. The best published reference is the Wizard of Odds, which documents the standard rules of both main studios (pages last updated 15 December 2023):

Rule Visionary iGaming Fresh Deck Studios
Decks 6 (about 4 dealt before the shuffle) 8
Dealer on soft 17 Hits (H17) Stands (S17)
Double down Any first two cards (per earlier VIG table reviews) Any first two cards
Double after split Yes No
Re-split No No (one split per hand)
Split Aces Not specified No re-split, no drawing to split Aces
Surrender Only through Early Payout tables No
Blackjack pays 3:2 3:2
House edge (basic strategy) 0.69% 0.62% (99.38% return)

Both studios pay 3:2 on a natural, which is the single most important rule to check at any table. Our blackjack hub shows why: a 6:5 payout adds about 1.39 percentage points to the house edge, while the gap between the two studios here is less than a tenth of a point. The VIG game loses ground through the dealer hitting soft 17 (worth about 0.22% on its own) and the ban on re-splitting. Fresh Deck gives some of that back by standing on soft 17 but takes away doubling after a split.

Our earlier page said BetOnline’s tables let you surrender “at any time”. That described Early Payout, not the classic game. Standard VIG and Fresh Deck tables offer no surrender option.

What the edge costs in dollars

Take a $25 bet and about 60 hands an hour, so $1,500 wagered per hour, played with correct basic strategy:

Table House edge Expected loss per hour
Fresh Deck classic (S17, 8 decks) About 0.62% About $9.30
VIG classic (H17, 6 decks) About 0.69% About $10.35
VIG Early Payout, accepting every offer About 2% About $30
VIG classic plus a $5 Pair side bet each hand 0.69% on $1,500 and 11.25% on $300 About $44

At these stakes, the rule difference between the two studios is worth about a dollar an hour. Side bets and strategy mistakes matter far more. Expected loss is an average over many hours; any single session can run well above or below it.

Side bets and insurance

The two studios offer different side bets, and their paytables are not the same as Evolution’s. According to the Wizard of Odds:

Side bet Studio Pays House edge
Rummy (your two cards plus the dealer’s up card make a straight, flush or three of a kind) VIG 9:1 3.24%
Pair (your first two cards are a pair) VIG 11:1 11.25%
21+3 (every winning hand) Fresh Deck 9:1 2.74% (8 decks)
Perfect Pairs Fresh Deck Up to 25:1 13.03%
Insurance (dealer has blackjack) Both 2:1 About 7.4% (6 decks) to 7.5% (8 decks)

Our older page gave the VIG Rummy and Pair payouts correctly but did not mention the cost. The Pair bet at 11.25% is one of the worst bets on the table. Insurance is no better: after the dealer shows an Ace in a six-deck shoe, 96 of the 311 unseen cards are tens, so a 2:1 payout returns about 92.6 cents per dollar. Our blackjack insurance guide works through the eight-deck figure. Perfect Blackjack tables at BetOnline carry their own paytable, which BetOnline does not publish outside the game, so open the Pay Table tab before you place a side bet there.

Blackjack Early Payout tables

Six of BetOnline’s 30 tables run VIG’s Blackjack Early Payout, in limit bands from $5 to $100 up to $250 to $10,000. At every stage of a hand the screen shows a cash offer for your bet. Take it and the hand ends; decline and the hand plays on, with the game making basic-strategy decisions for you. In effect it is a surrender available at any moment, priced by the studio.

That convenience has a cost. The Wizard of Odds found the offers were usually worth about 98% of the hand’s expected value, so accepting carries roughly a 2% house edge on that hand, about three times the 0.69% of the base game. If a hand’s expected value is $20, the offer will typically sit near $19.60. Accept only when you would genuinely rather lock in a result, for example near the end of a session budget. Our Blackjack Early Payout guide walks through a full hand.

BetOnline’s live casino rules that affect blackjack

BetOnline’s “Live Casino Rules” help article (dated 24 April 2025) sets a handful of house rules that override anything you might expect from a land-based casino:

  • Disconnects and time-outs: bets stay in play. If you lose connection or fail to act in time, your hand is completed using basic strategy, which BetOnline says protects you and anyone betting behind you.
  • Back betting: you are bound by the seated player’s decisions and cannot claim a refund if you disagree with them.
  • Card counting: professional card counters are prohibited, and an account found counting is subject to immediate closure.
  • Misdeals: a human misdeal or technical fault voids all hands, and the original bets are returned.
  • Other players: problems or inactivity at your table do not change your result and do not earn a reimbursement.
  • Alias: you choose a display name on your first visit to the live casino; abusive names can be revoked and the account suspended.

The card-counting rule deserves a note. With six or eight decks and a reshuffle well before the end of the shoe, counting yields little at these tables anyway, and the rule means even a successful counter risks losing the account. Play basic strategy and pick tables on rules and limits instead.

Bonuses for live blackjack players

The old “$25 Live Dealer Free Play” described on earlier versions of this page is no longer offered. As of October 2026 BetOnline’s welcome deal is the “No Strings” offer: 50% of your first deposit as sportsbook Free Bets up to $250, plus 100 casino free spins. Neither part can be played at a live blackjack table, since the Free Bet works only in the sportsbook and the spins are tied to set slots.

BetOnline’s casino rules restrict bonuses to “classic casino games only” and exclude baccarat, roulette, sic bo and craps outright. Blackjack is not on the exclusion list, but BetOnline does not publish a contribution rate for live dealer games. Treat live blackjack as cash play and ask support before accepting any casino bonus you intend to clear at a live table.

Two rewards do help regular players. Casino Rakeback is paid as cash with no rollover, never expires, and is calculated from your total stake and the house edge of the games you play. Because blackjack has a low house edge, rakeback per dollar wagered is small, and BetOnline does not say whether live tables are eligible. The VIP programme adds personalised reloads from Bronze level upward, though sportsbook bets earn reward points three times faster than casino bets.

How to start playing live blackjack at BetOnline

  1. Check whether your state is accepted. BetOnline does not publish a restricted-state list, and regulators in Michigan, Tennessee and Massachusetts have ordered it to stop serving their residents, so ask live chat first.
  2. Open an account with your name, email, password and a valid phone number, then confirm the verification email.
  3. Deposit. Crypto starts at $10; cards start at $25, carry a processing fee and are often declined by US banks. Every deposit must be wagered once before it can be withdrawn.
  4. Go to Casino, Live Casino, Blackjack and pick a table whose limits fit your bankroll. A sensible rule is a bankroll of at least 40 to 50 minimum bets per session.
  5. Open the How to Play and Pay Table tabs to confirm the decks, the soft 17 rule and side-bet payouts.
  6. Withdraw by crypto when you can. BetOnline’s withdrawal table lists crypto payouts from $20, processed within 24 hours, while fiat methods take days and cost more.

Basic strategy adjustments for these tables

A standard basic strategy chart covers almost every decision, and the one in our blackjack hub works here. Two details are worth knowing for BetOnline’s tables:

  • VIG tables (dealer hits soft 17): double soft 19 (Ace-8) against a dealer 6, double soft 18 (Ace-7) against a dealer 2, and double 11 against an Ace. These small changes recover part of the cost of the H17 rule.
  • Fresh Deck tables (no double after split): splitting small pairs is worth less when you cannot double the new hands, so split 2s, 3s, 4s and 6s less often than a double-after-split chart suggests. A no-DAS chart from the Wizard of Odds covers the exact cases.

Never take insurance or even money, keep side bets small or skip them, and set a loss limit before you sit down. No betting system, including Martingale-style doubling, changes the house edge. Starting at $10 and doubling after each loss, eleven straight losses cost $20,470, and the twelfth bet of $20,480 is already above a $20,000 table maximum.

BetOnline holds a gaming licence from Panama and no licence from any US state. Eight states have legalised online casinos; seven markets are live (New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, West Virginia, Connecticut, Delaware and Rhode Island), and Maine legalised a tribal-only market (LD 1164: became law without the governor’s signature in January 2026, effective 29 July 2026) that has not launched as of October 2026. In the live states, licensed casinos stream mostly Evolution blackjack under state oversight, which is the regulated option.

Like Bovada, Ignition and MyBookie, BetOnline is an offshore site: each excludes some states, there is no state regulator to complain to, and your funds are not protected the way they are at a licensed casino. Michigan’s Gaming Control Board (28 April 2025), Tennessee’s Sports Wagering Council (20 May 2025) and the Massachusetts Attorney General (25 June 2025) have each issued cease-and-desist orders to BetOnline. Gambling winnings are taxable income in the US, and BetOnline’s rules leave reporting to the player.

Frequently asked questions

Does BetOnline have live dealer blackjack?

Yes. On 6 October 2026 BetOnline’s live lobby listed 30 live blackjack tables: classic seven-seat games, six Blackjack Early Payout tables and three Perfect Blackjack tables. Most come from Visionary iGaming (VIG) and Fresh Deck Studios, and limits ran from $1 to $50,000 a hand.

What is the minimum bet for live blackjack at BetOnline?

The cheapest seat was Immortal 1 at $1 to $20,000 a hand on 6 October 2026. The VIG Early Payout 5 and 6 and Perfect 3 tables started at $5, and most classic tables at $10. Limits change, so check the figure on each table tile before you sit down.

Who provides BetOnline’s live blackjack tables?

Visionary iGaming supplied 16 of the 30 tables in the October 2026 lobby, including all Early Payout and Perfect Blackjack games. Fresh Deck Studios ran 11 BetOnline-branded classic tables. BetOnline does not name the studio behind the other three.

Does the dealer hit soft 17 at BetOnline?

It depends on the studio. The Wizard of Odds lists VIG blackjack as six decks with the dealer hitting soft 17 (0.69% house edge) and Fresh Deck blackjack as eight decks with the dealer standing on soft 17 (99.38% return). Each table’s How to Play tab shows its exact rules.

Can you count cards at BetOnline live blackjack?

BetOnline’s live casino rules say professional card counters are prohibited and that an account found counting is subject to immediate closure. With six or eight decks and a reshuffle well before the end of the shoe, counting also gains little at these tables.

Can I use a BetOnline bonus on live blackjack?

Not in any useful way. The current welcome Free Bet is sportsbook-only, casino bonuses are limited to classic casino games, and BetOnline does not publish a live dealer contribution rate. Plan to play live blackjack with cash and ask support before accepting any casino bonus.
