Play Live Blackjack Online

Live blackjack is a type of casino game that offer players real excitement through realistic sound effects, high quality graphics and live opponents. This game is the latest version of one of the world’s most popular card game played in the casino. The game gives skilled players an opportunity of competing with the casino on uniform grounds.

live blackjackThe world of online casinos without blackjack is simply unimaginable. Blackjack, also known as twenty-one, is the most popular table game at both land-based and online casinos. In spite of that, casino owners are not very keen on blackjack and the reason is simple – it gives more to players than any other game. The expected payout in blackjack games of 99% and higher shows that this game is extremely payable. For example, slots have a theoretical RTP of 95% to 97%.

It is not just another casino game, its general acclaim has brought it in our popular culture, making this game a part of our lives. One of the reasons of its fame, beside the big odds, lies in simple rules that everyone can quickly catch up and join the table. Although the game has developed in several directions, knowing the basic rules allows you to adapt easily to the variations. We at OnlineCasinoAward.com are supplied with numerous black jack games, powered by different providers, and we are more than willing to show you the way through the blackjack maze and help you find your treasure.

Basic Blackjack Rules

Face to face with the dealer, the player tries to have a total value of cards in his hand closer to 21 (without exceeding 21) than the dealer. This general rule applies to all blackjack variations since the beginning of the game a few centuries ago. The player competes against the house, not against other players. All face cards (Kings, Queens and Jacks) count as ten points, aces can have value of either 1 or 11, while other cards have value of the number shown on the card. The player is dealt a two-card hand and it is up to him to decide whether to stand or to “hit”, meaning to ask for another card. If his total card value exceeds 21, he is “busted” and he loses the game. If he has an ace and a face card in his hand, the player got Blackjack, the strongest hand that cannot be beaten, only matched. If the player holds an ace that counts as 11, that hand is called “soft” and the player cannot go bust if he hits again, no matter of the value of another card. Otherwise, the hand is “hard”.

In addition, the dealer will have two cards in front of him, too, and he may choose whether to hit or stand. However, while players can play the game the way they want, the dealer has to follow strict house rules. Generally, the dealer hits if his cards value is 16 or less and stands if his cards total 18 or more. In some games, the dealer will hit if he holds soft 17 (meaning he has hand with an ace and one or more other cards totalling six), but in most cases, he will stand at 17. The winner will be the one that has a total cards value of 21 or less than 21, but higher than the opponent. If one of the opponents draws additional card and his hand exceeds 21, he will lose. If the player and the dealer have the same total, that is called “push”, meaning the game is tied and the player neither loses nor wins any money. If he wins, the player will earn a prize equivalent to the bet.

Player’s Moves and Blackjack Strategies

Generally, the player has two main moves at his disposal – hit and stand. There is no limit of additional cards the player can draw, as long as the value of cards in his hands does not go over 21. Additionally, if the player is satisfied with his cards, he can use double down option to double his original wager. Split is the option the player can use in case his first two cards have the same value. The hand will be divided into two separate hands and a bet equal to the original bet will be placed on the second hand. A new card will be dealt to each hand. Some games allow splitting pairs of aces, but many of them do not. In some games, players have the option to “surrender” after the first deal and to keep half of the bet, while the other half goes to the house. Furthermore, black jack games usually provide side bets, most frequent of which is insurance. If the dealer’s first card is an ace, the player can place a bet against the possibility of the dealer getting blackjack.

It is played with one to eight standard 52-cards decks, shuffled together. The fact that same cards are used for some time, gave many players in land-based casinos a chance to count the cards on the table in order to predict the succeeding outcomes. In online casino games, cards are shuffled after each round, so the player cannot benefit from card counting and other techniques that give headache to the owners of land-based casinos.

Online Blackjack Games

Online blackjack games are basically software programs, meaning you will not face with the real dealer and see him dealing the cards or see real cards on the table as well. However, these games are very popular, their fairness is verified and, unlike real casino blackjack or live dealer version, you can play them any time, 24/7 with a seat always available for you. The fact that these are virtual games allows online casinos to put many different games in their game lobby, so you can taste a true diversity of blackjack. Also, these games can be played for free, giving you a time to adjust to the games and learn how they work, before you place any money.

Live Blackjack Games

Due to high-speed internet, we are able to play real casino blackjack sitting in our chair, within a comfort of our homes. In live games, real dealers run the games and real cards are dealt. Commonly, live games have limited number of seats, which can be a drag sometimes, but you can always stand behind and use side bets. More and more providers take part in live blackjack games, which means more and more games are at our disposal, including different variations.

Pontoon

  • Two to eight decks of cards are used
  • The best possible hand is an ace and a 10-value card, which is called “pontoon”
  • The next best hand is five-card trick, which is any five-card hand that hasn’t busted, regardless of value
  • Players can stand only if they have at least 15 points
  • Dealer hits soft 17
  • Dealer wins all ties

Perfect Pairs Blackjack

Perfect Pairs  is a regular game with a specific side bet called “Perfect Pairs”. Here you can benefit if your first hand consists of the same cards:

  • Non-coloured pair (Ks-Kd)
  • Coloured pair (Ks-Kc)
  • Perfect pair (Ks-Ks)

The payouts may vary depending on the casino, but the average is 6:1 for non-coloured pair, 12:1 for coloured pair and 25:1 for perfect pair.

Live Blackjack, also known as 21 has become the first choice for many people who love casino games. It is with no doubt that, a gambling tour to a live casino can be an exciting experience. Moreover, you are able to save time and energy going to the land based casino. You can start your game by just clicking on a button irrespective of where you are.

How to play live blackjack

Playing live blackjack is easy. At the beginning of the game, players will place their bets on the circle of blackjack table. The dealer will issue 2 cards to each player including himself. All players’ cards will have their face upwards while one of the dealer’s cards will face downward and the other upward. The card whose face is down is referred to as the hole card.

The dealer wins the game if the card facing upward is 10 or an Ace. As such, all players except those with blackjacks will lose the round. In America, it is common that the dealer with the blackjack collects all the losing bets from players and passes it on to those with blackjack in order to boost their bets.

The live blackjack game has a variable of 3 to 2. If the both the dealer and the player end up with the blackjack, the bet is acknowledged as a push. This means both players have tied.

The game is also known as 21 because 21 is the highest hand in the game. If a player and the dealer bust up, the dealer wins because of the house advantage.

In addition to that, a dealer will allow players to insure a hand against the blackjack if the dealer has a 10 or an Ace card facing up. Insuring the hand will reduce the odds from 2 to 1.

In case the Ace is the up card, the dealer will let the player with the blackjack to choose “even money”.  The player can choose to reject or accept the offer. Therefore, if a player accepts the offer, the bet will lead to even money irrespective of the dealer having a blackjack. Once the player has made a decision, the dealer will reveal the hole card. If the card is not a blackjack, players will play their hands. The round of the game ends when the dealer has the blackjack.
